A Neglected Ingredient: The Perfect Summer Playlist

There was a period of time this past year where I was just popping out great recipes like it was as easy as snapping my fingers. Like, I was nailing it. A lot. And then, all of a sudden, that stopped. I’ve been able to keep up the weekly posts, and this isn’t me meandering from the main topic (i.e., food), but let’s face it: I need some inspiration. Because last week, I watched a beautiful peach crumble go in the garbage since it didn’t taste even remotely as good as it appeared. Then, I winced as a plate full of perfectly good chicken crashed to the floor (on one of my new plates! Sad face.) Did I mention also that I keep finding myself eating ice cream first? Because who eats fruit, anyway?….

Just being honest, I kind of needed a little something to make the kitchen a welcoming environment again. It was starting to become that place that bad food was born, where beautiful dishes shattered and poor nutritional choices occurred. Then I thought, maybe I’ve been missing something! And I can’t think of a better way to spruce things up than some good music to cook along to. I mean, obviously I am capable of cooking sans a soundtrack (excluding the peach cobbler, because that was an abomination)…except there is zero fun in that. So, to serve as some inspiration, here’s what I will be listening to as I concoct some (hopefully) excellent summer recipes to share with you.

P.S. This is my favorite time of year. Just a reminder, make sure you have fun, stay hydrated, and, if all else fails, pull a Teddy and hang out in the shade.
