[Read: Make My Pecan Pie!!!!!]
Friends, I have excellent news. I woke up at 4:14am and I could not sleep again this morning (good news pending, wait for it). This has been happening for about a week, and I cannot yet confirm if Google is right, and I am encountering a spiritual or existential transformation. It certainly feels mundane.
Meanwhile, on the days when I do have to work early in the morning, my alarm meets me just in time for me to feel like I could just sleep forever. This time, I made y’all a gift. Here are a bunch of Thanksgiving-translatable QS recipes ALL. IN. ONE. PLACE. If only my sleep cycle could happen like that.
[But before I begin: make my pecan pie!!!!!]
Anyway, I’ll try my best Vanna White impression and showcase these Best-Ever Dirty Mashed Potatoes.
And don’t forget the Fig, Feta, and Scallion Cornbread.
Or, Honey Buttermilk Biscuits, if you’re feeling nostalgic.
Time for my signature hair flip: this Bourbon, Brown Butter, and Chocolate Chip Pecan Pie, though. [This is the one I mean! Make it!!!!!]
But, you could try these bb Brown Butter Tarts instead, I guess.
Also, this Red Potato Gratin with Thyme and Manchego is so good, I didn’t want to share my leftovers.
And, for the unconvinced Thanksgiving guest, I suggest Citrusy Cranberry Chutney with Golden Raisins and Tart Cherries. Unfortunately, I could not recreate the traditional can-shape. Sincerest apologies.
If you can’t do Roasted Carrots with Honey, Harissa, and Yogurt, I am unavailable. Good night.
For the extra Thanksgiving diner, my Apple-Asian Pear Pie with White Cheddar Crust and Bacon Streusel will do.
Or, Acorn Squash Bundt Cake, whose Honey Walnut Frosting I once ate out of a bowl.
Other great options:
Spinach with Warm Fig and Honey Vinaigrette, Brown Sugar Pomegranate Cranberry Sauce, Honey-Roasted Root Vegetables, Brown Butter, Goat Cheese, and Chive Drop Biscuits, Mozzarella, Scallion, and Olive Cornbread, Pumpkin Cake with Maple Cream Cheese Frosting
And even if you don’t make one of my biscuit recipes, I would still like to point out this little hodgepodge of tips and tricks for better biscuits:
A Guide to Perfect Biscuits and Scones
Except, at this point, you should know you need to make my pecan pie, so perhaps this was wasted effort.
